From 032ce1c7d1afb23e6b1265d91c5a97e45de071ce Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Paul Eggert Date: Wed, 16 Sep 2015 16:23:55 -0700 Subject: Omit unnecessary \ before paren in C docstrings Although \( is needed in docstrings in Elisp code, it is not needed in docstrings in C code, since C function definitiions do not start with a parenthesis. The backslashes made the docstrings a bit harder to read and to format in columns. Also, some C docstrings had ( in column 1 and this did not appear to be causing any problems. So, simplify C docstrings by replacing \( with ( and \) with ). --- src/bytecode.c | 4 ++-- 1 file changed, 2 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) (limited to 'src/bytecode.c') diff --git a/src/bytecode.c b/src/bytecode.c index 86d44aba46b..864db1a0bed 100644 --- a/src/bytecode.c +++ b/src/bytecode.c @@ -2000,9 +2000,9 @@ syms_of_bytecode (void) DEFVAR_LISP ("byte-code-meter", Vbyte_code_meter, doc: /* A vector of vectors which holds a histogram of byte-code usage. -\(aref (aref byte-code-meter 0) CODE) indicates how many times the byte +(aref (aref byte-code-meter 0) CODE) indicates how many times the byte opcode CODE has been executed. -\(aref (aref byte-code-meter CODE1) CODE2), where CODE1 is not 0, +(aref (aref byte-code-meter CODE1) CODE2), where CODE1 is not 0, indicates how many times the byte opcodes CODE1 and CODE2 have been executed in succession. */); -- cgit v1.2.1
