* lisp.h (GCPRO1_VAR, GCPRO2_VAR, GCPRO3_VAR, GCPRO4_VAR, GCPRO5_VAR)
(GCPRO6_VAR, UNGCPRO_VAR): Remove.  See
&lt;http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-diffs/2011-11/msg00265.html&gt;.
All uses changed to use GCPRO1 etc.
(GCPRO1, GCPRO2, GCPRO3, GCPRO4, GCPRO5, GCPRO6, UNGCPRO):
Revert to old implementation (i.e., before 2011-03-11).

(pcomplete--table-subvert): Sync with comint--table-subvert.

(comint-completion-file-name-table): New function.
(comint--complete-file-name-data): Use it.
* src/dired.c (file_name_completion): Don't expand file name.
(Ffile_name_completion, Ffile_name_all_completions): Expand file name
before checking file name handler.

Use cons_to_unsigned to catch overflow.
(Fencode_char): Use INTEGER_TO_CONS.
* composite.h (LGLYPH_CODE): Use cons_to_unsigned.
(LGLYPH_SET_CODE): Use INTEGER_TO_CONS.
* data.c (long_to_cons, cons_to_long): Remove.
(cons_to_unsigned, cons_to_signed): New functions.
These signal an error for invalid or out-of-range values.
* dired.c (Ffile_attributes): Use INTEGER_TO_CONS.
* fileio.c (Fset_visited_file_modtime): Use CONS_TO_INTEGER.
* font.c (Ffont_variation_glyphs):
* fontset.c (Finternal_char_font): Use INTEGER_TO_CONS.
